Summer Drinks Recipes

With the summer finally here, everyone needs a cold, refreshing drink. There are so many possibilities out there from juices to smoothies, to coffee, to cocktails. When there are so many different alternatives, which one do you go for?

I generally opt for these healthy, simple to make- yet definitely delicious-recipes:

 

Homemade Ginger Ale: 

1 whole fresh ginger 

1 small bottle of sparkling water 

2 tablespoons of honey 

 

Boil ginger in water for about an hour. Remove the ginger and combine the ginger water with sparkling water and add honey to sweeten. 

 

Green Detox Juice:

1 cucumber 

½ lime 

½ lemon 

4 kiwis 

5 spinach leaves  

 

Squeeze juice of lime and lemon.

Pour the juices and the put the rest of the ingredients into a blender.

Blend for about 30 seconds.

 

Energy Booster Strawberry Banana Oat Smoothie: 

150g strawberries 

1 large banana 

150g plain quark cheese or Greek yogurt 

30g rolled oats 

1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional) 

 

Simply put all ingredients into a blender and blend for about 30 seconds.
