Students from both Oxford and Cambridge University have today launched the 'Concious Charity Ball' in order to raise awareness of the various issues surrounding mental health, amongst both the student bodies and institituions themselves. The money raised will be donated to Rethink and Mind, as well as a selection of smaller charities.

Their launch today included a video endorsement from from Richard Curtis, the writer behind Love Actually, Blackadder and Notting Hill. In the video, Curtus described the event as an 'amazing thing, as really fighting on the issue of mental health is so important.'

The ball will be held in Week 6 of Michealmas, and promises to 'have the finest and broadest array of entertainment, food, and drink' .
