Apply for a Easter 2016 Column!

Join the TCS Easter 2016 Team!

Tired of revision? Bored after prelims? Frustrated that you can’t write about Life, the university and everything in your exam papers? If you want to escape the dullness of Easter term, see your name in print regularly and have it seen university-wide, being a TCS columnist is for you.

From modern art to the latest soaps on iPlayer, from student experience to the Big Questions in life, we want to hear your pitches for Easter term columns. We’re more than happy to discuss and develop baby ideas before you apply – and if you’re stuck for ideas but are keen to write, get in touch and have a think about one of our pitches.

Exam term can be stressful, but writing a column is not. TCS offers weekly and fortnightly options, or you could couple up and write with a friend. There will also be plenty of support and casual get-togethers throughout the term with the columns team. What better way of getting out of that dusty old library?

Whatever your ideas, we want to hear them.

Send a brief description of your column ideas, as well as a (roughly 400 word) sample draft of the first one, to by midnight on Wednesday 20th April. No experience necessary, but attach a sample or two of your previous writing if you have any. Or if you just want to find out more and ask any questions before you apply, just drop us an email.
