TCS can exclusively reveal that the headliner for the Corpus Christi May Ball this year is Lethal Bizzle. Event organisers say they are "incredibly excited" to be bringing one of the biggest names in Grime to Cambridge in June.
Set to welcome 1,000 guests on June 23rd, president of the committee, Isabella Hadjisavvas, told us: "Lethal Bizzle has been at the vanguard of grime for fifteen years and has remained an acclaimed artist throughout his career. The Corpus May Ball committee is delighted to be welcoming Bizzle to perform this year and hear songs from a back catalogue of huge tunes which will take this year's ball to the next level."
Responsible for hits such as 'Pow', 'Fester Skank' and a recent collaboration with Skepta, 'I Win', Lethal Bizzle is also famous for clothing brand 'Dench'. "A scintillating live performer, Lethal Bizzle's announcement reflects Corpus 2017's commitment to settle for nothing less than the most dynamic and relevant programme to ensure June 23rd will be an unforgettable night," added Isabella.
The theme of the ball is 'Canvas', and each area will be themed to a different colour, with Bizzle performing in the multi-coloured festival area in the college's New Court. Previous Corpus May Balls have attracted acts such as Akala, Wretch 32, Miss. Dynamite and Bondax.
The waiting list for tickets is still open at corpusmayball.co.uk/tickets. The committee will be allocating a limited number of tickets to the waiting list next week.
