Obscure accessories

From micro-bags to thigh-high boots, obscure yet fabulous accessories were everywhere at London Fashion Week. Simone Rocha’s collection was lavished with beaded, sparkling sashes, curly fur heels, hair bows and giant dangling earrings. Meanwhile, quirky brooches are set to be the trending accessory as displayed by Bora Aksu and Richard Malone. Check out the ranges at Zara and Urban Outfitters for quirky pieces with a student friendly price-tag.

Grandad glamour

Forget mom jeans and vintage denim jackets — those keen to keep ahead of the game should invest in modernized granddad knits. At Erdem, old fashioned jumper prints were modernised with feather sleeves, accessorised with statement earrings, and paired with sequin skirts. Achieving this look is easy, take a trip a local arts and crafts store to find sequins and feathers that you can sew or pin to old knits to add some glam.

Paint box colours

London fashion week was dominated with vibrancy, especially playful, childlike primary tones. Preen by Thornton Bregazzi added splashes of primary colours with outfits tones in just one bold colour, while Jasper Conran featured clashing block colours.
