Two attacks on women in Cambridge occurred on Monday and Tuesday this week.

A sexual assault took place on a woman, not a student of the University of Cambridge, on Parker’s Piece early on Tuesday morning. A spokesperson from the Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “The victim attended Parkside police station at 6.20am to report the sexual assault.

“Crime scene investigators have carried out initial searches at the scene.

“We are in the process of talking to the victim to establish further details about the assault.”

Police have asserted that the attack was not related to the series of sex attacks on women in Cambridge earlier this year.

On Monday another assault occurred on Queens’ Lane at 3.50 am involving a female student. The attack was not sexual in nature.
