The game began slowly with UEA cutting up the flow of the game while Cambridge failed to take advantage of a clearly inexperienced side.
Nevertheless, soon the scoring started and the first quarter ended 5-1 to Cambridge.
In fairness, the ability of UEA to put a goal on the scoreboard does reflect their determination going into the game.
They turned up hoping to cause an upset and they took advantage of a Cambridge defence that had fallen asleep.
The second period was just a continued attack on the UEA goal and finished 10-1.
In the third quarter Cambridge managed to spread the goals around and while Phil Hall finished on 7 goals for the day, assisting others to make the score 16-1. By this point, the UEA team had, understandably, lost some of their former enthusiasm and the final quarter was a 9 goal washout.
Highlights included the first two goals in a Cambridge shirt for man of the match Craig Murphy who had been unlucky not to score in the previous quarter.
