Men’s basketball qualify for quarter finals

Cambridge won a tight match against Bournemouth to advance to the quarter finals of the BUCS trophy.

Bournemouth got off to a good start, but Cambridge were quick to respond and for the first quarter neither side were leading by more than three points. 

Early in the second quarter, Cambridge opened up a six-point lead. Bournemouth dominated the early exchanges of the third quarter to bring the score back to 56-55 to the hosts.  However, Cambridge soon pulled ahead again and at the final quarter the score was 67-62 to Cambridge, as the play swung Bournemouth’s way again.

Bournemouth scored nine unreturned points at the start of the fourth quarter. Cambridge fought back to take a slender lead into the final few minutes then held their nerve to close out the match 92-84
