Netball Blues beat Brookes to advance in Cup

On Wednesday, the netball Blues advanced to the last 16 after their second BUCS cup victory of the season against Oxford Brookes thirds.

Cambridge dominated from the start in both attack and defence, leading 18-3 by the end of the first quarter. The second quarter followed a similar pattern, starting evenly before Cambridge showed their quality to pull away to a 38-6 lead at half-time.They continued to keep possession and increased their margin in both the third and fourth quarters, while controlling the game defensively with effective interceptions.

While the team’s performance was imperious, the tight marking by goalkeeper Miranda Pottinger saw her being awarded player of the match. The Blues’ fine season continues apace.
