A victory against Birmingham on Wednesday put the Blues netballers through to the quarter finals of the BUCS Midlands Cup.
After a shaky Cambridge start, a determined Birmingham side took the lead in the first quarter as the home side failed to convert many opportunities into goals.
However, in the second quarter an enlivened performance from Emma Langley-Jones helped to lift the girls in attack and the light blues quickly turned the game on its head.
By half-time, Cambridge had settled into a comfortable lead. Consistently strong pressure in defence helped to secure the turnovers needed and Emily Coulter’s relentlessly energy at Centre earnt her Player of the Match and carried the girls to a deserved victory.
