Emmanuel College announces first female Master

Emmanuel College has named Director-General of the National Trust, Dame Fiona Reynolds DBE, as their next Master.

Reynolds will be the first woman to hold the post in the College's history.

Reynolds read Geography and Land Economy at Newnham, graduating with 1st class honours and progressing on to do an MPhil in Land Economy.

Since then she has been Secretary to the Council for National Parks and Director of the Women's Unit in the Cabinet Office, before taking up her current post at the National Trust in 2001.

Reynolds will succeed Lord Wilson of Dinton GCB who will retire on 30th September 2012.
