Anti-Semitic posters distributed in Cambridge

Anti-Semitic flyers were recently distributed around Cambridge by The System Resistance Network, a neo-Nazi group. This included flyers being posted on a sign for Christ’s Pieces, as well as near Cambridge University.

TellMAMA, an organisation that measures and monitors anti-Muslim attacks, reported that the flyers were anti-refugee, homophobic and anti-Semitic in nature. Several distributed near the University depicted a swastika over legal scales, with the text “Justice Awaits You”.

Richard Rose of Cambridge Unite Against Fascism expressed shock at the most recent flyers incident, saying, “It is very concerning that such vile propaganda has been distributed in and around Cambridge. We are a diverse city which prides itself on its multiculturalism and its welcoming of peoples from other countries.

“However, the recent climate where some of those in the establishment seek to scapegoat refugees and migrants for the current economic crisis has created a space where racism can start to spread its poison.”

This is not the first instance of neo-Nazi activity in the city – a three-day neo-Nazi rally was held late last year, with hundreds of far-right supporters converging in Cambridge to mark the anniversary of Ian Stuart Donaldson’s death. Donaldson was the founder of white supremacist group Blood and Honour.
