Tit Hall drinking society to disband

Just a few days after a video emerged of Trinity Hall's drinking society, the Crescents, mocking "inclusivity" and "snotty-nosed kids" preventing Crescent members from taking part in swimming lessons, the college's drinking society is to disband.

The video, which was filmed on the morning of Caesarian Sunday in Wetherspoons, received immediate backlash after it was uploaded to Facebook page, Grudgebridge.

The video has since been taken down, but Tit Hall has nonetheless taken action against its student members. It is understood that those involved in the incident have been made to sign a formal apology to the Master of the College before disbanding.

In order to limit the consequences of his actions, the student who was giving the said video has temporarily left college accommodation.

No action against the society or individuals have been forced by the college. However, those being investigated have been banned from the College bar, with further sanctions yet to be imposed.

The Master has now opened an investigation into the matter. In an email sent to Tit Hall students, the acting Senior Tutor of the College, Dr William O'Reilly, adds that "the College will not allow the unacceptable behaviour of a minority to impinge on the lives of the majority."
