Twiglet the dog bow-wows out of Sidney study-break sessions due to stress

Students at Sidney Sussex were emailed by college pastoral staff this afternoon informing them that study-break dog-walking sessions would no longer be taking place after Twiglet the Jack Russell terrier had a “surprisingly nervous reaction to being taken for walks by strangers”.

Twiglet, who began working at the College at the start of this term, “refused to move” when prompted by students who were taking her for a walk on Wednesday. According to the email, “this [was] very unlike her”, leading to college staff cancelling future sessions, so as to avoid “any unnecessary distress” to the four-legged friend.

Students had the opportunity to book dog-walking slots with Twiglet as a means of de-stressing and taking a break from revision; however, the email suggested that students try sourcing their own canine companions online from now on – the College will not be reopening the vacancy until next year.
