The University has revealed who will receive the funds from staff’s docked pay during the strike last term.

A wide range of students will benefit from the money which was docked from staff participating in Lent term’s strike action. Three of the funds specifically benefit disabled students. This includes the Disabled Students Bursary Fund, the Snehal Sidhu-Patrick Memorial Fund, covering disability-related costs for wheelchair users, and the Charlie Bayne Travel Trust, which gives grants to disabled students for academic travel.

Other funds benefitting from the allocations are the Childcare Support Fund, the Central Childcare Bursary Fund, the Careers Service’s Internship bursary scheme, and the Postgraduate Hardship Award Fund.

The University is also discussing how to establish funds for students whose difficulties are not covered by extant funds, and is considering establishing a fund for intermitting students.
