22 October 2009

Oxford University has come under criticism from its students after it was reported that the institution had spent £10 million on public affairs over the last four years. The money was spent on efforts such as re-branding, maintenance of the website and event management. The Oxford Student quoted students who were outraged at the figures considering a “lack of basic facilities” such as tables in lecture theatres. John Hood, the outgoing Vice-Chancellor has previously spoken of the “grave risks” that Oxford face in light of a loss of £8 million in their budget this year.
