The Cambridge Tripod: Cambridge Haunts

Sárica Robyn Balsari-Palsule 30 October 2014

Carved pumpkins glowing in the night,

Children hopping from house to house, eagerly collecting sweets and other treats,

Streams of people in costume lining the streets.

Cambridge is full of spooky surprises on Halloween. The beautiful architecture of Kings’ College Chapel becomes a haunted house on 31st October, the gargoyles around the city come to life and the walkways by the river plunge into darkness. Cambridge colleges are playgrounds for mystery; there are surprises lurking amongst the shadows.

But this is just for one night. When daylight appears and November finally shows its face, we are met with the gentle beauty of Cambridge once again.
