Union members left furious at inadequate booking system

The Union announced it would be issuing tickets for the popular event with an email to members and a notice on the Union Facebook page yesterday (16th October).

When members tried to book the tickets this morning at 10am the webpage was unresponsive. Members reported being able to enter some details in the system but being unable to submit the request. A member commented on the Union Facebook page, "Nice to know the money we spent goes towards quality IT"

The Union did apologise to those complaining on the Facebook page saying, "the ballot has been paused due to too many people logging in – we will keep updating with more information on the ballot and on ticketing on the door later today so keep an eye on the Facebook page! Sorry for any inconvenience"

The Union response left members unsure if tickets were sold out or if the ballot was still paused.  One member commented, "Is the ballot still paused or can I now trust the site when it says the spots have all been taken? Quite confused.".

This is not the first time members have experienced issues with the website this term. The booking for the Union Freshers Ball was beset with problems for those trying to win one of 200 free tickets. Members did not recieve the email with the booking link at the time specified by the Union. This has been a particular issue with the Union strategy of announcing events and sending out countdowns telling members, "*10 MINUTES TO GO BEFORE TICKET RELEASE*".

Tickets will be available at the door for the Scaramucci talk on Wednesday on a first come first serve basis.
